Stravaigin Yarn Co. is born of the creative passion and dedication of textile artist Seathra Bell. Born and raised in the beautiful Slocan Valley, Seathra received her BFA from the Alberta College of Art+Design in 2011 and has recently completed a Masters in Textile and Fashion Design at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. The recipient of a major project grant from the Columbia Basin Trust, she is currently conducting research into the traditional textile and dye plants of the First Nations within the Columbia Basin.
Stravaigin Yarn Co. is dedicated to the slow craft of creating beautifully coloured yarns from locally harvested and indigenous plant dye materials and ethically sourced wool and exotic fibers. Learn about how the materials are harvested and dyed in our field journal, and have a direct connection to your yarn for those high quality creative projects.
